About Belkyra®

Double chins, or otherwise described as excess volume under the chin affects many men and women regardless of age or weight. Excess fat below the chin may be a result of aging, genetics or weight gain. Often exercise and diet are not enough to diminish the double chin effect. Double chin or excess volume under the chin, is one of the most prevalent issues people have about their own appearance, in both men and women. The Belkyra® treatment is a non-surgical option to target the area of unwanted volume underneath the chin. This treatment can help you achieve the defined profile that you so desire.


Treatment Results

Belkyra® is a non-surgical, injectable treatment that is safe, fast and effectively reduces the double chin within 2-6 treatments. This product destroys and breaks down the fat cells and removes them through the body’s own waste systems. Once the cells are broken down they can no longer store or accumulate fat. The active ingredient in Belkyra® is synthesised deoxycholic acid. Deoxcholic acid also occurs naturally in the body where it helps to break down dietary fat. When Belkyra is injected below the chin, the product reduces the fat and leaves you with a more contoured jaw and neck profile.

Most patients will see the desired improvements within 2-4 treatments, but some may require up to 6 to achieve their desired results. Please note, the photographs on this page show excellent results but results vary between individuals. Once you have achieved your desired results, additional treatments may not be needed as the results are maintained for at least 4 years.

How it's done and side effects

The treatment involves multiple injections under the chin, across at least two sessions. Each session takes around 15-20 minutes. Every treatment is tailored to suit the specific requirements and facial structure of each individual.

The most common side effects associated with double-chin reducing injections include: pain at the injection site, swelling, bruising, numbness, redness, tingling, formation of small areas of hardness, warmth and discolouration, and itching around the treatment area. Such side effects are temporary and resolve with time.
